About This DVD
SARANGBANG SEONSUWA EOMEONI. Seung-won has a way of manipulating people into
giving him what he wants-and what he wants is money. His latest victim is an
elderly woman who agrees to give him all her savings if he can locate her
granddaughter and daughter-in-law. Seung-won agrees to the conditions and starts
a search for the pair which leads him to a small village where he meets Hye-joo
and her smart but stubborn daughter Ok-hee. Not having any finding the old
woman's relations, Seung-won makes a new plan win over the hearts of Hye-joo and
Ok-hee and make off with their money instead. The Korean title of this Taewon
Entertainment comedy, as well as some of the character names, is a play on the
1961 classic Mother and the Houseguest directed by Shin Sang-ok. Playing the
rakish Seung-won is Jeong Joon-ho who has appeared in such earlier comedies as
My Boss My Hero, My Boss My Teacher and Marrying the Mafia. Comedienne Kim Won-hee
(Marrying the Mafia 3, Extras, Oollala Sisters) plays Hye-joo and Im Hyeong-joon
(Marring the Mafia 2,3) plays Ok-hee. It seems as if the only person on this
project who was not involved in the Marrying the Mafia series is director Im
Yeong-seong. His only previous work has been as an assistant director of 2005's
Shadowless Sword.
