About This DVD

This is the movie Yesterday!

2002 declares war on 2020
Korean moviemaking successfully crosses the Sci-Fi frontier!

Directed by JEONG Yunsu
Produced by Miracin Korea
Presented by CJ Entertainment

1. The Gigantic Movie

A Huge Challenge!
2 years of planning, 9 months of filming, on an 8 Billion Won budget. The first Sci-Fi Blockbuster from Miracin Korea, the producer of such acclaimed films as A Petal, Timeless Bottomless, The Strength of Kangwon Province, Oh! Sujeong, and The Discovery of Life.

A New Record!
Set construction 5 months, set production budget 1.8 Billion Won. A total of 250 costumes (750 pieces) produced for an average cost of 550,000 Won each. Over 100 kinds of future-oriented props designed and built, at a cost of 300 Million Won.

An Action Upgrade!
Over 100 pieces and 14 varieties of weaponry and over 10,000 rounds of ammunition used. A nonstop explosion of medium-defying action -- mid-air helicopter pursuits, underwater action scenes, and breathtaking car explosions.

A New Vista!
The first development and use of the "fly-cam" in a Korean production. The largest variety of lighting equipment ever used in a Korean production. The most optical filters and camera angles ever used in a Korean production.

2. The Scientific Movie

Tell the Future
Technical consultation for the movie script provided by the Biological Cloning Research Team of Seoul National University, Dr. Choi Sanggyu of the National Forensic Investigation Laboratory and noted psychologist, Dr. Bak Heegwan.

Show the Future
Props and costumes designed in consultation with the Future Design Center of the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. Scientifically accurate working models of card-style internet phones, wireless communicators, sound wave tracking devices, DNA scanners, dental scanners, wireless video telephones, data transfer devices, and databank kiosks.

Create the Future
A four story high video monitor and a convention center outfitted with over 10 holographic screens; creating the vision of the future took over 7 months from design to production including the remodel of 15 vehicles. The vision of the future was completed by computer graphics used to present the 3D cityscape of Korea in 2020 - in a world of airborne advertising, autopilot guided trains and spy robo-cams.

3. The International Movie

Japan's Asahi TV's special coverage of Kim Yunjin on Yesterday's set. Japan's NHK TV's special coverage of Kim Seonah as a young Korean star for future international stardom. Participation of best-selling cartoonist Yi Hyeonse to produce a storyboard of the main elements.

The monumental melding of science and film
A true Sci-Fi Blockbuster!

1990. A number of children suddenly disappear. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense selects an elite group of scientists for a top-secret mission. Then, 30 years later ¡¦

A killer with a murderous genetic code
Takes dead aim at the heart of the future!

The year is 2020 on a reunified Korean Peninsula. A string of murders is committed against retired scientists. The Special Investigations (SI) unit staffed by a crack team from the former North and South Koreas and outfitted with the latest technology is brought in to investigate. The killer, however, far from being deterred, taunts them with a signature pendant at every murder scene. In an act of devilish boldness he even kidnaps the son of the investigation team's leader, Seok. Then, in a stakeout, Seok manages to shoot dead one of the murderer's underlings. Cloaked in the man's clothes, however, is Seok's son, now dead by the hand of his father ¡¦

In the middle of the future, a string of murders from the past
The common thread tying each mystery is an erased Yesterday.

Meanwhile, in the megapolis Intercity, the chief of police is kidnapped right in front of his heavy security detail and the culprit leaves another pendant at the scene. The chief's daughter, Heesu, a talented criminal psychologist quickly joins the investigation to find her father. Soon, Seok discovers that he and Heesu share an uncanny bond - the same pulsing migraines and having no memories of their childhoods. ¡¦ Seok begins to suspect the worst - Were the murders only an ghastly scheme to bring himself and Heesu together?

Seok and Heesu's erased memories, Goliath's murderous genius and the serial killings of the scientists. ¡¦ The password that opens all of these secrets is Yesterday.

Transformation beyond all past recognition Charisma that will conquer the future.
