About This Book
It is a "comic cut division introduction" for beginners who try to draw cartoons for the first time, people who have some experience in writing scripts but are still difficult to produce content, and people who want to develop expressive skills and deliver stories more fun. The author, a talented cartoonist with 25 years of experience, is conducting a cut division course for numerous students at the Tokyo Name Tank, a manga story institute. The book was based on the core cut division techniques dealt with in the course and the materials systematically summarizing the actual training methods conducted while working with the students.
Part 1 explains the basics and points of the cut segmentation technique that is basically good to know. Part 2 introduces various examples of use of cut division, which doubles fun and charm, based on the techniques discussed above. Examples of training tasks conducted by the author in offline courses and actual creations of the students at the time were used. Part 3 shows a new rewriting of some of the author's works published 20 years ago, and Part 4 presents two short cartoons that have different directions and developments in one scenario using the techniques and know-how we have seen so far.
