About This Book
The 'Bai Ling Gwol Edition: Korean Contemporary Novel' series selects representative short stories from Korean modern novels and includes them simultaneously in Korean and English. This series, which took about five years from planning to publication, was created with the participation of professional translators, including Professor Seunghee Jeon, a researcher at Harvard University's Institute for Korean Studies and doctor of comparative literature, and Professor Bruce Fulton of Korean Studies.
In order to preserve the quality and charm of the original work, I am researching Korean literature at the University of British Columbia in Canada.
In addition to works that appeared in the new wave of Korean modern novels after the 1990s, works that appeared in the embryonic period of Korean modern literature from the Japanese colonial period to before and after liberation are also introduced, showing the overall flow of Korean novels from the past to the present.
