About This Book

"The 27th Golden Goblin Award" It is the debut of a full-fledged picture book by Gudol, who won the 62nd Korea Publishing Culture Award. The artist, who was inspired by the grandmothers who slept on the local playground, captured the "power of invisible time" with a unique image through the noisy midday disturbance of the talented seven grandmothers.

On a boring spring day, seven grandmothers are enjoying a "snoring" nap in a pavilion in one corner of the playground. The grandmothers, who woke up to the sound of a cat, Gru, falling from the swing while chasing a butterfly, begin to brag about themselves. The rest of the grandmothers snort at the pride of Hong Jang-mi, who used to be a knitting room when she was young. "Have you already forgotten? Then I'll show you my talent right away!" After that, the grandmothers' amazing talents continue one after another, and suddenly a sharp scream rings in the playground. The cat Gru, who was watching the grandmothers' tricks, was taken by an animal abuser. The seven grandmothers use their respective organs to catch the animal abuser and save Gru. The story ends with the calm emotion of the conversation between the grandmother's cat and Gru, who were watching all the fuss in the corner of the playground.

All the images in this book are drawn in a straight line. The exaggerated figure was created with the intention of stiff movement, and the flat flat picture is simple and intuitive. Details such as onomatopoeia and prosthetic words that vividly depict grandmothers' talents, and hiding animal abusers throughout the playground add to the fun of reading books. The front cover of the book depicts the current appearance of grandmothers, and the back cover depicts a young man with the same movement, and the author says, "This book captures the idea of opening a page of a day in the journey of grandmothers that does not end and continues." The 27th Golden Goblin Award-winning film.
