Jung Jihoon’s The Horizon, which was nominated in the Best U.S. Edition of International Material Asia category at the 2024 Eisner Awards, often referred to as the “Oscars of the comic world,” has been released in a revised edition.
Although it unfortunately did not win at the awards ceremony announced on July 27, the fact that a completed work from years ago was re-evaluated and nominated in the United States, the home of the Eisner Awards, is in itself a remarkable achievement.
This newly released revised edition completely reorganizes the panel composition that had affected readability in the first edition, significantly improving the reading experience. In addition, to better capture the expressive quality of the original ink artwork, monochrome and color pages were separated and printed differently in an effort to reproduce a feel closer to the original work.
