Kusanagi visits his longtime friend and asks for his help, but Yukawa immediately refuses. Yet as Yukawa sees Kusanagi off, he suddenly offers to cooperate with the investigation in an entirely different way.
Later, after visiting locations connected to the case with Yukawa, Utsumi senses that the physicist is hiding something. The investigation, however, makes little progress, and the police repeatedly find themselves missing crucial leads. Finally, Yukawa decides to reveal a secret he has kept for many years...
