Jeong Dae-geon, who began his literary career when his debut novel GV Villain Go Tae-kyung won the 2020 Hankyung New Spring Literary Contest, returns with his second novel, Torrent, published as the 40th entry in the Young Writers Today series. Torrent is set in the provincial city of Jinpyeong, known for its reservoirs and valleys, and tells the story of the meeting and love between two seventeen-year-olds, Dodam and Haesol.
Their connection begins when Dodam, who went swimming with his father, jumps in to save Haesol, an impressive boy he notices at first sight, who nearly drowns. Following this seemingly fateful and romantic encounter, the two share everything and become inseparable, yet their first love is far from calm and easy.
